WPA has helped a number of new established franchises/concessions during mobilisation and we have become acknowledged experts in helping to deliver ‘100 day’ plans. From help with the formulation and successful delivery of remedial and improvement plans to the implementation of committed obligations, we can help with the timely and successful delivery of business critical change. We also have experience in Due Diligence work on PPP/PFI projects and mobilisation progress for clients, vendors and lenders.

Example projects include:

  •  Led the performance and NR interface workstreams during mobilisation of Crossrail for MTR - including the agreement of the Performance Strategy targets and putting in place new performance and operating procedures, setting up of new teams (including undertaking interviews) and developing contingency plans

  •  Assisted NX East Coast mobilisation through setting up new operational and performance processes for the takeover of the East Coast franchise – which played a critical role in the major improvement in train performance from the start of the new operation

  •  Development and implementation of a Remedial Performance Plan for a TOC in default of its Franchise Agreement

  •  Provided rail operations advice as part of multi-disciplinary team supporting a new entrant to the UK rail franchising market; assisting the client to determine and develop market entry strategy and transferability of their existing experience and capabilities

  •  Assessed and reported on the plans governing operations, crewing, control, station quality, security, business resilience and revenue protection as part of the Lender’s Technical Advisory team for a new PPP Light Rail project.
